Western Australian Legislation

In Western Australia there are over 100 pieces of legislation that relate to public health, including the 'Food Act 2008' and the 'Radiation Safety Act 1975', which are regulated by the Department of Health.

The 'Public Health Act 2016' addresses contemporary issues and provides a modern, flexible and proactive risk-based framework for the regulation of public health in Western Australia into the future.  (Department of Health, Public Health website, Enabling Legislation).
